Mold is a form of fungus that will feed from plants, wood, paper, rotten foods, and animal matter. Although it is normally seen outdoors some people will have it overrun their house. The most common place to look for it, is in your basement, laundry room, garbage cans, pantry, and refrigerator.
In several cases you can easily recognize the fuzzy green spots that are all over your bad food. Still, when it is growing on damp boxes or clothing it is more difficult to see. One of the strongest signs that it has overrun your house is the horrible scent that it creates. When you have discovered you need to do what it necessary to get rid of it from your home as quickly as possible.
This substance is terrible to have in the home - but few individuals truly understand the health problems that it may create. Anybody who suffers from asthma, other respiratory conditions, or has a weakened immune system will have a hard time breathing when they are close to it.
If you see it producing anywhere wear a mask before you touch it. The second it is moved the spores from it will be expelled. This is how it travels through the air to various parts of the home. These spores are so tiny that when our mouth is too close or uncovered we can breathe it in without ever knowing.
Many people have more serious reactions because of a
mold allergy. This will stimulate a stuffy nose, wheezing, itchy eyes, and a rash. Anyone who has this must do what they are able to keep away from it and to keep it from invading their home.
